Welcome

I’m Dr. MaryClare Roche, Director of Technology and Innovation at Arab Barometer. Welcome to my website.

I received my Ph.D. in political science from the University of Rochester, concentrating on formal theory, statistical methodology, and comparative politics.

In my current position with Arab Barometer, I oversee all technical aspects of survey creation, deployment, quality assurance, data processing, and data visualization.

For more information about my background and current position, please see the About page.

My research interests tend to be dichotomized between substantive and technical. My current substantive interest is the changing views of the roles of women in North Africa and the Middle East, while my technical research focuses on Natural Language Processing, particularly with respect to Arabic.

For more information on my research, past and present, as well as past and upcoming talks and/or conference attendence, please see the Presentations & Research page.

The best way to get in touch with me is to reach out via email to mcroche@princeton.edu.

If you are reaching out for a media comment, academic presentation, etc., I am grateful for the opportunity, but also encorage you to look into the profiles of experts on People of Color Also Know Stuff.
